After the successful completion of this activity students will be better able to achieve these learning outcomes that are common to most states’ and territories’ Society and Environment Key Learning Area:

Understand some of the major events, people and developments in Australian history

identify some key forces for change and continuity

describe and explain lasting and changing aspects of Australian society and environments.

Culture and identity

Examine how gender influences an individual’s identity

analyse factors that bring about cultural adaptation within groups, communities or societies.


Analyse occupational pathways and their education and training requirements to develop possible career plans

analyse trends to predict likely future workplace changes and ways in which individuals and groups can respond to and influence them.

Working through the activity

This activity is designed for groups or individuals and consists of five activities designed to be worked through consecutively. The activity is completely self-contained within a single, 15 page Acrobat™ file (650kb).

All that needs to be done is to download the Acrobat™ file, print pages from it as required and distribute them to activity participants.
